Highlights

Puerto José Banús, more commonly known as Puerto Banús is a luxury marina and shopping complex located in the area of Nueva Andalucía, to the southwest of Marbella. It has become one of the largest entertainment centres in the Costa del Sol with 5 million annual visitors and is popular with international celebrities.

Developed around a coastal village in the Mediterranean architectural style, Puerto Banús contains expensive shopping malls, restaurants and bars around the marina. It is also scene to many exotic cars that are owned by international celebrities and wealthy owners who also own large yachts berthed in the marina.

Around town

Luxury cars like Rolls-Royces and supercars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis are a common sight in and around Puerto Banús. The streets of Puerto Banús are lined with expensive luxury boutiques like Christian Dior, Gucci, Bvlgari, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana. In the heart of the Antonio Banderas Square is one of the largest El Corte Ingles department stores in Spain, which includes the hypermarket Hipercor.

Beaches

The beach adjacent to Puerto Banús holds a European blue flag for its safety and water quality. The port is flanked on either side by beaches. Looking out towards the sea, to the left you have a less crowded beach with a walkway to the promenade, which will take you all the way down to the Marbella. There are several Chiringuitos (beach restaurants) and a children’s play area. To the right is the main beach where, during the summer, beach parties are held with bars, music and dancing on the beach, day and night.
